It is Independence Day here today in the Philippines.
And I just remembered one independence or freedom that was gained unpopularly–the change of status of golf legend Tiger Woods. This premier golfer was respected, admired, and envied by golfers and other athletes. He was living the life, had millions of dollars worth of endorsements, a super model wife, and good looking children.
But his picture perfect life was shattered when new broke out with his unique addiction, which was sex addiction. It is not uncommon for many husbands to commit adultery when they are tempted by women who like popular men. However, Tiger did not just simply commit into an adulterous affair–he admits being addicted to having sex with different women. His wife probably knew about this already but when news broke out about several women coming to the open and admitting their different levels of relationship with Tiger, his wife, Swedish model, Elin Nordegren, decided to call it quits and filed for a divorce. His endorsements were also cut short.
Tsk. tsk. It is just too bad. And too sad, too.
